WE HAVE LIFT-OFF

photo credit - Rhyanne Fritz, Photography II 2013-14
Welcome to tnhsart.blogspot.com - the hub of activity for Creative Art/Studio, Photography and Ceramics.

Please take some time to look around.  Notice the new class tabs located at the top of the page. Follow those to interactive Google presentations, which house calendars, syllabi, essential questions and assignment links.

The student blogs located to the right will be updated with our new and returning students' blog pages, and the class rubrics, also to the left, will be replaced with the new student-generated criteria developed by our Generals.

Here's to a phenomenal 2014-15.  Lift off!

Photography as Narrative

Check out this link from "my most likely to steal from site" - Digital Photography school.
Story

We will be reading this article as a text and completing the attached assignment as our introduction to the idea of the photograph as a narrative.  Whenever we come back to school that is.

Writing the Artist Statement

Friday 1-24-14

Artist Statement examples and worksheets.  By the end of class today you should have a draft attached to your blog as a separate button.  Once you have composed your own artist statement in a google doc, then go to the "layout" in Blogger, click "add gadget", and finally click to add a "text box".  Copy your text into that box, then save, and it will add the gadget to your blog.

Answer these questions to help you:

What kind of work am I doing?
How am I doing it?
Why am I doing it?
What influences me most?
How does my art relate to the art of my contemporaries (or, in your case, your classmates)?
What do I want other people to understand about my art/photography?
Am I unwilling to discuss any aspects of my work? If so, why?
What direction could I see my work moving in the future?
