Photographer Research Project


­­­­Photographer Research Project


  • Select a photographer who is well known for his/her photography


Key considerations and expectations:
  • Your selection must be easily found via an internet search, but you
  • State why this individual is of interest to you
  • Provide adequate information regarding his/her body of work
  • What or who influenced the individual’s work
  • Educational background of the individual
  • How did he or she evolve as a photographer
  • How does the artist/photographer’s work connect to the audience
  • Why is he/she successful
  • As soon as you have made your selection, notify the instructor so your selection can be recorded – note: no one can report on the same photographer, selections must be made end the beginning of the period Monday, November 18th.
  • Presentations will be due before Thanksgiving break, November 26th.


Requirements:
·         Collect images of his/her work from web sources
·         Write a well-developed paragraph for each of the key considerations above
·         Ensure that you cite your sources – do not just cut and paste from the net
·         Create a timeline of the individual’s life that is highlighted by examples of his/her work
·         Take a photograph that emulates the individual’s style – don’t just copy or photograph anything – you should let his/her style influence your work
